Podcast Recommendation

Kristin has the red tank and yellow capris and Erin has the white tank and green skirt on.
For years now, I have been listening to a Podcast called Manic Mommies. It’s two friends that sit down in front of microphones and their computers once a week and chat about what is going on in their lives. Occasionally they also have a guest on to talk about issues or products that Moms (and sometimes dad’s too) are interested in.
Once a year, they will get together with their listeners that can attend, and any friends drug along on this thing called the Manic Mommies Escape. “The Escape” for short. I was privileged enough to be able to go in 2008. I haven’t been able to attend since, due to being in a “motherly” way the past two years, and the year previously just didn’t have the dough.
I encourage anyone who is looking for inspiration to keep on going one more day without strangling your children to check out their podcast at http://www.manicmommies.com/ and even read their blog. They are a couple of funny broads.
Need large family portraits? NO PROBLEM!
This weekend I had my biggest photoshoot EVER. 31 babies, kids and adults met for a birthday, and I was invited to come take their family photo. Before I got there, I knew I would have a large group, maybe 20 or so, but I am sure my eyes got a little larger when I heard it would be 30 people the day of the shoot
But no worries! I whipped out the wide angle lens, set up with the tripod, and was ready to go. Our first picture was the large group. I started off by putting in the ones with no kids (hey, they are supposed to be more patient, right?!) Then packed in the families with kids. We used a picnic table as out “stadium seating” and it worked out great!
Spring Wedding in the Park
I just LOVE weddings in parks! There are so many options when you are outside in a large area, flowers, fountains, steps, brick buildings! At Buxton Park in Indianola, I shot the photography for a wedding with all my favorite things. It was a blistering 150° day, but we still got some really terrific portraits in between the rain and tornados. Thus is the life in Iowa!
My bride let me do whatever I felt like, so I got to use my creativity to put them in some unique situations, and the photos came out great:

This was my favorite picture from the entire wedding. A few days before the wedding, I was walking around the park with my bride-to-be, and I stood in front of the fountain, and had a vision for this exact picture. It came out perfect, I couldn’t be happier (and neither could my bride
You can check out some more photos from the weddings I have shot here.
